Since 2005, he has founded and led several talent consulting and coaching businesses, including Strengthscope, a global strengths assessment and development company. James is an accomplished author and speaker on leadership, executive coaching, innovative talent management, positive organizations and the future of work.

How do I sign up?

James only works with a handful of people and talent leaders at any given time.
During an initial discovery meeting he will explore your needs, context, challenges, priorities, gaps and aspirations. He will also provide more details about the programme and answer any questions you may have.
If you decide to go ahead, James will arrange a series of 3 or 6 online mentoring sessions with you, each lasting 90-minutes. There will be opportunities for practice and self-managed learning in-between sessions.
Additional sessions can be arranged after completing the initial programme.

This immersive 6-month online programme will provide you with the skills and techniques to unlock the energy, performance, and wellbeing of your people. During the programme you will work with other HR leaders to learn how to apply powerful positive psychology techniques like growth mindset, psychological safety, resilience, emotional agility, and appreciative inquiry.


Learning topics and outcomes include:

  • Trends shaping the new world of work and implications for you and your team.
  • Practical positive psychology tools and techniques to improve people management outcomes.
  • Appreciative and creative thinking techniques to overcome challenges and prepare your organization for the future.
  • Techniques to unlock the strengths, energy, and positive capacities of your people.
  • The growing importance of purpose-led business to build a more sustainable future.
  • Ways to achieve greater happiness, meaning and success at work.

Your Learning Journey

The programme is highly interactive and consists of around 30 hours of learning delivered over 6 months. In addition to five online modules, you will be expected to undertake additional coursework and application of learning. Upon completion, you will earn a Certificate of Positive People Management. You will also be invited to join an online alumni community providing you with access to special events and ongoing learning.

To encourage collaboration, sharing and support, you will engage in regular peer coaching and feedback. You will also be required to undertake a change challenge project enabling you to apply learning to tackle a significant challenge at work.

Your Facilitators

The programme will be led by James Brook and Sarah Lewis, two of the UK’s leading experts in applied positive psychology, strengths-based HR and positive people practices.
